World of Warcraft: Children’s Week Begins
Stormwind Orphanage
All orphans wish they had someone to show them the wonders of the world. Throughout the year, they spend their time wandering around their home cities of Stormwind or Orgrimmar, dreaming of the day they’ll be old enough (and big enough) to venture out into the world alone and see the sights their parents would have shown them. During Children’s Week, though, brave adventurers for the Horde and the Alliance can make these kids’ dreams come true! To help these kids see the world, all you have to do is visit the orphanage for your faction. Talk to either Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind (Alliance) or Orphan Matron Battlewail in Orgrimmar (Horde). After that, you and your young friend can adventure together across Azeroth! Below are some of the places and people the orphans want to visit:
Orgrimmar Orphanage
The bank in Darnassus (Alliance)
The lighthouse in Westfall (Alliance)
Jaina Proudmoore in Theramore (Alliance)
Mor’shan Rampart (Horde)
Lordaeron Throne Room (Horde)
Cairne Bloodhoof in Thunder

Totem Talk: Elemental, my dear Watson
So, what’s the score with Elemental as a spec? Why, Mister Rossi, have you been so assiduously avoiding any discussion of it?
Well, in part it’s because I don’t really like playing as an elemental shaman. It’s a personal preference issue: when I’m DPS, I like to be up in mob faces, not standing back casting spells. My default spec for when I’m not enhancement is restoration, if only because I seem to be able to keep people alive fairly well with that spec and usually healing is at a premium. But I would have no difficulty in admitting that not only am I not particularly enthused with elemental (unlike Mike Schramm, one of our big elemental boosters) I’m also not very good at playing one. So speccing elemental this week and testing out the spec was to some degree like asking Wayne Gretsky to go figure skating: sure, the guy can skate, and skate well, but he’s really not known for that particular kind of skating. Still, I did it, and I have to say that as is always the case when I do it I found the spec much less

Facepalm @ AH prices
As I said in the other thread on this, the system perpetuates itself.
I didn’t copy over with hundreds of thousands of gold — I copied over with about 1k. So if I need to buy anything at the AH, I have to sell something else for a crazy price to do so.
The only way to deal with it is to play the game yourself.
And don’t blame the sellers — it’s equally the fault of those of us buying things for that much. People certainly wouldn’t sell Titanium for a 1,000 a bar if there wasn’t some guy out there who would gladly pay it.
On the flipside, though, some things are much better than live. A lot of other stuff I’ve seen listed barely over buyout price. And also, I’ve encountered a ton of generous people happy to give or trade stuff. I’ve given away tons of cut gems and cloth, but have also gotten free gear, enchants and potions. I got tipped 2k gold the other day for cutting some guy gems that he provided.
I paid 50g at most for the glyphs I bought (85 silver for the cheapest ones!). Sure, some people
